Schedule

  • Four 90-minute live, interactive Zoom sessions (not a webinar)

  • Session recordings available to participants who miss a class or want to review

What You’ll Receive

  • Complete Early Childhood Repertoire — 99 songs and chants specifically designed for ages 0–9+, organized by type (chant or song), developmental level, meter, tonality, and alphabet — across all tonalities and meters (except locrian), including many that are multitonal and/or multimetric.
  • The Harmonic Learning Sequence (HLS) — Dr. Eric’s revolutionary method for teaching harmonic functions using child-friendly labels (“Yes,” “No,” “Uh-oh,” etc.), root melodies, and hand (and feet) signs — including secondary dominants and other common functions seldom used in traditional MLT classrooms.
  • Method & Techniques — Learning Sequence Activities at Aural/Oral and Verbal Association levels, how to teach Partial Synthesis earlier than ever before, and the developmental sequence: listening → imitation → breathing/coordination → expanded context → prediction/creation → composition/improvisation.
  • Rhythm Pattern Development — rhythm syllables and pattern instruction across duple, triple, and uneven meters (BBANTSS — “Big Beats Are Not The Same Size”), serving the audiation of phrase, section, and form.
  • Teaching Tonalities — how to introduce and develop understanding across tonal contexts and how they relate to harmonic understanding, building vocabulary through pattern instruction and HLS.
  • Recorded Music & Choreography — curated playlists for classroom and home use, plus movement activities supporting expression, style, form, dynamics, and timbre — without replacing live singing.
  • Scope & Sequence — Dr. Eric’s complete curriculum framework: what to teach, in what order, and why — and how to adapt it across age groups and developmental levels.

What Past Participants Say

  • “Eric’s approach to teaching harmonic function is totally inspired. So simple and playful. What a gift to the MLT community to have someone who is expanding the work Dr. Gordon started.”
  • “It filled the void that had been nagging at me for a long time. I now have my work cut out for me in terms of sprucing up my own audiation.”
  • “Not only am I prepared to teach my students harmonic functions, but I am ready to develop my own ear for harmony!”
“Because children know how to learn better than we’ll ever know how to teach them, they deserve to be better challenged musically.” This summer, learn how to better meet that challenge — register below to secure one of the final spots.
